Loch Ness Monster. Loved Nessie so much when I was little because plesiosaurs looked very elegant and graceful to me. Also, she was a GIRL monster?!?!?! This was of critical importance- I loved it when there were specifically girl characters/historical figures/monsters/sentient trucks/etc. involved in anything. How did my parents not know I would grow up to be a lesbian? One of the great mysteries of our time. Anyway I spent Y2K- literally, December 31st, 1999 -researching Nessie on my family's big, clunky, wheezy computer. It's the first thing I remember researching online; I was six. So she retains a place in my heart, always.
